Peyee Chen

Soprano Peyee Chen (1986, Taipei, Taiwan) received her Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University in 2008, and her MA (with distinction) from University of York in 2010. Her current interests include florid ornamentation of early music and solo, unaccompanied contemporary music for voice. Recent projects include Feldman’s Three Voices, Berio’s Sequenza III, and Finnissy’s Song 1 and Song 16. Highlights this year include studying Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire with Linda Hirst at Dartington International Summer School on a bursary, being a part of the BBC Radio 3 broadcast of Goethe’s Faust, and performing at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. Peyee is currently a Choral Scholar at Leeds Cathedral.
