Federico Gardella

Federico Gardella was born in Milan in 1979. He studied piano with Piero Rattalino, Riccardo Risaliti and Klaus Hellwig, graduating in 1999 at the Conservatory of Milan and in 2003 at the Universität der Kunste in Berlin.

He studied composition at the Conservatory of Milan with Giuseppe Colardo and Sonia Bo, graduating in 2006. His compositions study is now in progress at the Conservatory of Milan with Alessandro Solbiati and Giuseppe Giuliano for electronic music. Meantime he is mastering composition with Azio Corghi at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

His compositions have been performed at many prestiogious contemporary music events (Mantova: Teatro Bibiena, Milan: Accademia Internazionale della Musica/IRMus/AGON, Associazione Musica Rara, Musica nei Cortili, Orchestra Filarmonica del Conservatorio/Sala Verdi del Conservatorio, Siena: Accademia Musicale Chigiana/Palazzo Chigi Saracini, Stuttgart: Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst/Konzertsaal, Hull: Middleton Hall,…). In 2005, Radio Classica dedicated to him a programme of the series Note d’autore. A tu per tu con i compositori d’oggi (Author’s Notes. Face to face with today’s composers). His works are published by Rugginenti Editore and by Edizioni Musicali Sconfinarte.
