Alaistair MacDonald

Alaistair MacDonald is a composer and performer working primarily in electroacoustic music. His music is performed and broadcast internationally and several works are available on CD.

Recent work includes two commissions from the Australian ensemble Elision, music for choreographer Shobana Jeyasingh's Making of Maps and So many islands, Kilim and One Island for tape alone and Arachne, music for a sculptural installation in collaboration with BEAST and Glasgow based artist Lorne Christie.

He has worked extensively with the electroacoustic ensemble BEAST and for Sonic Arts Network, producing and diffusing concerts. He teaches composition and directs workshops in schools, colleges and arts centres and is currently working at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
